On March 11, Jackson Middle School hosted the 2023 IGSMA District Band & Choir Contest. As host for the day, Jackson Middle School welcomed over 1,000 people, including 20 choirs and 14 bands from area middle schools.
The Jackson Concert Choir, Jefferson Concert Band, and the Jackson Symphonic Band participated, with each ensemble performing in front of a panel of three expert adjudicators. Following the performance, each ensemble received expert feedback and a short lesson from some of the area’s most sought-after choral and band adjudicators and clinicians.
A crowd of enthusiastic families was on hand to support and cheer on our student musicians.
