The E-Sports club has begun at Jefferson Middle School. 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students have teamed up with their friends to battle it out in Rocket League. Rocket League puts two teams of three against each other in a game of remote control car soccer. Both teams must work together in order to make goals, and also block shots from the opposing team.
The first few meetings saw over 15 sixth grade students partake in the after-school club. “The E-Sports club has been something I look forward to after school,” said Bailey F. “Playing games at school with my friends, and not getting in trouble has taken some getting used too,” says Jesus L.
The E-Sports club will end with 8th grade students taking on the challenge of Rocket League to finish up the first season of battles after Spring Break. “I look forward to adding more games and more PC setups in the future so that even more students are able to enjoy the fun of playing games after school with their friends,” says Mr. McDaniel.
