School spirit takes center stage at Jefferson

On Aug. 28, Jefferson Middle School students and staff gathered for an all-school assembly featuring the Wheel of Wisdom. The event was part of Jefferson’s three-week Jumpstart program, which the school leadership team developed to foster a positive, supportive and fun environment.

Wheel of Wisdom creates competitive learning experiences by transforming school gyms into Hollywood-style game-show studios complete with electronic scoreboards and special effects.

Jefferson Principal Adam Bulfer said the assembly gave students an opportunity to participate, cheer for one another and connect with classmates and staff outside the traditional classroom setting.

“We wanted students to have fun, laugh together, and build positive memories at Jefferson,” Bulfer said. “It helps reinforce that school can be a place where students work hard, feel connected, and have fun together.”

During the game, students answered questions, spun the wheel and competed against other grade levels for prizes. Staff members also took the stage for a special competition round. The gym was filled with excitement and school spirit as students enthusiastically participated and supported their classmates.

Bulfer said the event reinforced the relationship-building and sense of belonging at the heart of Jefferson Jumpstart.

“Wheel of Wisdom supports those goals by bringing our school together for a fun, shared experience centered on teamwork, participation, and school spirit,” Bulfer said. “It helps students see early in the year that having fun and building community are important parts of our ‘We Are Jefferson’ culture.”

Keep showing your school spirit, supporting one another and making great memories, Wildcats!
